A combined time of worship for Ames First UMC, Collins UMC and Colo UMC will be held at Colo United Methodist Church.
A Service of Tenebrae, or “Darkness,” is based on a 12th century late night/early morning service and is an extended meditation on the passion of Christ. During this service, fourteen candles are lit and one is extinguished after each of the readings. The readings recall the events of the arrest, trial, crucifixion, and burial of Jesus. The service ends in darkness and silence.
