This will be a combined service of Colo UMC, Collins UMC, and Ames First UMC along with Ames First Christian Church.

Rev. Mary Jane Button-Harrison of First Christian Church will be preaching.  We will all participate in communion as we recall Jesus gathering in the Upper Room with His disciples prior to His arrest and crucifixion.

“Maundy” is derived from the Latin word for command.  As recorded in John’s gospel, on his last night before his betrayal and arrest, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and then gave them a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them (John 13:34).  The music and other acts of worship will all focus on the events of Holy/Maundy Thursday.  A nursery will be provided.
