What brought you to Ames First?
Ames First UMC felt like home for my husband and I when we first showed up in late 2007 after moving from eastern Iowa. We immediately felt welcomed and knew it was where we wanted our family to grow in our faith.
Where did you grow up?
I’m originally from Carroll, IA.
What can you tell us about your education and prior/current jobs?
My degree is in elementary education. I’ve also worked at the university level in the education division teaching traditional and non-traditional students.
What is your favorite thing about Ames First UMC?
The people. From day one they have been a welcoming people. They truly care for each other and work together to bring the love of Christ to the world.
What is your favorite something else?
I love history and enjoy traveling to places of historical importance. One of my favorite trips so far has been to Savannah, Georgia and seeing some of the first places John Wesley (founder of the Methodist movement) set foot and preached in America.
