At Ames First UMC, we provide a range of activities and events to teach children about Jesus and help them grow in their faith. We believe that the children’s ministry is essential to our overall ministry, as it helps to develop the next generation of Christ-followers. We offer several ways to connect with this ministry throughout the year.
Please contact our Children and Families Ministries Coordinator at [email protected] for more information.
Children’s Sunday School is held from 9:00-9:50 am, beginning in the Sanctuary. We use a rotation model and focus on Bible stories through various rotations such as art, drama, games, cooking, science, mission, movies, LEGOs, knitting, handbell choir, and more during our time together. Sunday school is for children ages two up through 5th grade.
We will hold Wednesday evening programming for children on a seasonal basis. Please check with the office or our Events page to learn more about the current offering.
For those just finishing 4-year-old preschool through 5th grade with youth volunteers beginning with 6th graders and up.
